Frequently Ask Questions

Why should not the ball on the CB-18 E / CB-24 E be moved if the grip is only minimally released?
The two tripod heads have no protective plastic shells that allow a ball movement. The ball would be damaged (scratched). Therefore, the ball should be solved by half a turn on the locking handle so you can move them freely.

Advice for anodized spherical surface CB-24 E
If the movement of the ball causes creaking noises, the surface of the ball should be slightly oiled.
Put some bicycle oil on a clean rag and rub the surface of the ball. When the handle is open, it is tilted 90 ° into the slot and rotated.

"Caution": All tripod heads marked F have plastic cups for friction and must never be oiled.

Can the small CB-24 FB tripod head hold a DSLR camera?
The applied tightening force of the photographer on the ball-bearing adjustment handle actuates a resilient clamping ring in the tripod head housing. With low friction, this torque lands directly on the ball. Where other tripod heads fail, the power reserves of FLM now work and keep the camera safely in the adjusted position without slumping. Selected bearing materials protect the spherical surface against premature wear.

Why does the snap function have backlash at the 0 ° position?
At the 0 ° position is the hole for the floor locking. By pressing the stop button, this position can also be centered for accurate image acquisition.

Why does the movement of the LB-15 leveling plate feel stiff?
On the leveling plate, the tripod head is mounted which serves to adjust the camera. This high weight with a long lever arm must be able to be carried safely and without backslash by the leveling plate. Thus, the preset friction of the plate must correspond to the high weight of the camera and objektiv and must not be easy to move by hand. Please check the silky smooth running of the leveling plate with appropriate load.

Why does the PR-15 plate have a height of 43mm?
This height is required to accommodate the optional technique of preload, detent, lockout and precise rotation.

Why should the selected exchange base be glued to the receiving thread?
The screwed only with the set screw exchange base is indeed safe and operationally connected to the tripod head, but has the disadvantage that the screw dissolves in left turn. To eliminate this annoying concomitant, can be glued with any conventional metal adhesive, the set screw in plates and ball screw.

Why is it difficult to remove the plate without mounting the camera?
To remove the plate, the clamping lever must be completely open and resting against the base. Without attachment on the tripod head and without camera missing any lever arm for the removal of the plate. Now helps a little trick. Push the safety button inwards and at the same time on the protruding turning mechanism with the slot above the button. The plate is released immediately.

Why does the SRB - 60 base have a standard bubble level and no HSA connection?
The SRB-60 base is suitable for mounting on the floor surface of the tripod head for leveling in panorama shots. For space reasons, mounting the HSA adapter would not be possible.

Is the stability of the small camera plate PRP-45 suitable to keep any DSLR camera safe?
The connection to the camera ensures the ¼ "stainless steel screw. Most cameras have this thread and are also equipped with heavy lenses including battery compartment. This clearly fulfills the connection for a secure hold.

Why is the HSA system not included?
It can be chosen between two different systems. Not all photographers deal with panoramic images. Some cameras already have software for leveling.

Why does the CP-30 level only have 8 kg load capacity?
The reduced load capacity of 8kg compared to the FLM CP-30 Pro Series results from the lever arm of the fully extended center column. Working with higher weights With inserted center column or even without center column is no problem.

Why are the aluminum handles on the CP-26 travel equipped with rubber?
In a tripod, the weight plays a big role. With 12 handles, the total weight could be greatly reduced by the use of rubber rings.

Why are spikes and rubber feet on the CP-26 travel unscrewable?
In hand luggage on air travel spikes are prohibited. The unscrewed feet reduce the pack size to 37cm.

Why a plastic bottle for the CP-Loader?
Taking an extra weight, especially on air travel, would be counterproductive to the lightweight carbon tripod. Beverages are available worldwide as a returnable bottle to buy. The light empty bottle can be refilled on site with water or sand. Before leaving the bottle, simply discard it again at the resort.

Why do not the pipe segments fall down automatically when the sand protection handles are mounted?
A felt ring surrounds the carbon tube and prevents independent sliding. Therefore, it is advantageous to use the sand protection handles optional to exchange after use again.
