The QLB-50 is a flexible quick change system with proven dovetail guide and quick release. It is completely manufactured and assembled at our FLM brand partner plant in Beijing, China. In addition to the quick release, the QLB is equipped with a sliding jaw, like our SRB type base. Therefore, this base is suitable for most base plates and photo angles of other manufacturers and can be called Arca-Swiss(R) Compatible (as long as the profile of the base plates and photo angles matches the original Arca-Swiss Classic profile). Not suitable are apparently the profiles of RRS(R), Small Rigg(R) and similar profiles. A circular bubble is mounted in the base for alignment. Another bubble level is mounted recessed in the handle screw.

The locking lever has three positions:

1. Closed
2. Shift
3. Open

Mode of operation:

First, the QLB is set up in the closed position (lever pos. 1.) with the help of the adjustable jaw to the base plate/photo angle(s) to be used. To do this, first turn the clamp fully open with the turning screw. Then place the base plate/photo bracket on the QLB. Now adjust the jaw to the width of the base plate/photo angle by turning the adjusting screw. The jaw must clamp the base plate/photo angle so tightly that it can no longer be moved.

From now on, the base is set up for the corresponding base plate/photo angle. By adjusting the locking lever in position 2, the base plate/photo angle can now be moved. Afterwards, it is rearranged again. By adjusting the locking lever in position 3, the base plate/photo angle is released and the camera can be removed. Caution: Hold the camera firmly before moving the locking lever to position 3.
